Macdonald Chisholm Trask Insurance recognized as one of Atlantic Canada's Best Places to Work by Progress Magazine.

June 16/10 - Macdonald Chisholm Trask Insurance has been recognized for a third time in four years as one of Atlantic Canada's Best Places to Work by Progress Magazine.  In an awards ceremony held June 15 in Halifax, the top 30 Best Places to Work were unveiled by representatives of Progress  and Pennsylvania based Best Places Group  who conducted the annual survey.

"Of all the lists published each year, this is the toughest one to be named to," said Progress publisher Neville Gilfoy in a personal address to MCT staff.  "So to earn the title of Best Places to Work three times is no easy feat, but Macdonald Chisholm Trask has done just that.  And as a true team, you should all be very proud of this accomplishment."

"The entire team is proud of being recognized once again," says Director of Marketing for MCT Chris Bavis.  "We kept the initial announcement that we made the list this year a secret until our annual general meeting which was held recently at Oak Island.  They were very excited to get the news and are proud to be able to once again use the Best Places to Work logo on our website and documentation."

To determine the region's Best Places to Work, Progress Magazine partners with Pennsylvania-based Best Companies Group (BCG), a research firm that manages best company programs in North America and one in Western Australia. BCG conducts an extensive two-part survey, including an organizational overview of each company’s policies and procedures and an in-depth employee questionnaire.

"The great part about this program is the information we get from the in-depth employee survey," says company President & CEO Mike Brien.  "Regardless of the ranking and recognition this initiative is about learning what our people think about the company including where we are strong and where we need to improve," he adds.  "Acting on that is the true recognition of what would be a great place to work for me."
